Description
ENG6125 Engle W-125 – VW Performance Camshaft – For 1.1 or 1.25 Rockers
For an Air-Cooled VW Engine Type 1 1600 Dual Port Beetle – Bus – Thing – Buggy
This is a new, open box shaft.
Engle performance VW camshafts are made from iron billets, and CNC-machined to ensure correct tolerances.
Specs
– .460″ of valve lift
– 301 degrees of duration at 1.1:1
– .418″ of cam lift
– 262 degrees of duration at .050″
– 108 lobe centers
Suitable for use with 1.1 (stock VW) or 1.25 rockers
If you choose for 1.25:1 rockers, your valvetrain better be perfect or you will have problems
The Engle cam fits 1200cc (40 horse) through 1600cc based, VW Type 1, 2 and 3 engines. The camshaft is a flat cam design and must be used with a flat cam style oil pump and a separately sold bolt on cam gear. New lifters should be installed whenever installing a new camshaft. A tube of assembly lube is included with the cam.
This is the Big Brother to the Engle W120, the same crappy low-end but with another 500 RPM of top end! You must have dual 2bbls of carburetion, and good head porting and hopefully more displacement. 1 1/2″ exhaust MINIMUM
Expect a powerband of 1800-6000 RPMs, the more headwork and carburetion the better the low end will be.
You must use dual springs with this cam and bolt-on rocker shafts. Use a compression ratio of 9.5-10:1.
If you choose to use this cam with 1.25 rockers, your valvetrain better be PERFECT or you will have problems
