Irwin 1/4″ x 18 National Pipe Taper Tap, made of carbon steel, is ideal for pipe fittings. It cuts internal threads in pipes and has a tapered rate of 3/4″ per foot. The normal size of the tap is that of the pipe being fitted. It is recommended to use a 7/16″ drill bit with this tap.
